The increasing use of portable devices has led to a more frequent necessity of converting between media formats. AVCWare 3GP Video Converter specializes in converting video into 3GP, a multimedia container format used by mobile phones. This way it allows you to watch your favorite movies on your phone.
The program has a nice interface, perhaps too similar to those of other converters. On the one hand, this is an advantage for inexperienced users who are already familiar with this type of layout. These users will also benefit from the (sort of) tutorial available. On the other hand, you may have gotten tired of using so many applications that look more or less the same, and you are expecting something new.
There are two skins and several languages to choose from. A difficulty related to using its interface is that it does not fit a screen set with a resolution of 1366 x 768 (fairly good) and therefore some parts of its window are not visible.
The tool supports batch processing, and you can preview the files you add to the conversion list. While you do that, you can take snapshots of your favorite frames. While this converter is compatible with a very wide array of input formats, it only allows converting into a very limited group of profiles. However, you can create customized profiles and save them for later use.
In general, AVCWare 3GP Video Converter does exactly what it is expected to do. It can convert really fast and even perform two-pass conversion to guarantee the best quality, thanks to its support of modern hardware - such as CUDA and ATI stream. Although it is commercialized as freeware, it is in fact adware. You will soon realize that it is actually used as bait to induce you to buy other similar products by the same developer.
